I received my MSc degree in computer science from the University of Zurich in 2007. I defended my PhD thesis in 2012 and I am now working as a senior research associate in the Software Engineering Group in the Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich. By the end of January 2014, I will leave academia to pursue a career in industry.
My current research interests include:
My research in general is about building better software. In particular, I aim to integrate valuable tools into a developers IDE to facilitate daily development tasks. For that, I investigate whether and how evolutionary data can be leveraged, i.e., if we can learn from the past to build better software in the future. Another topic that is worth a closer look, are the Semantic Web technologies and how they can contribute to software engineering tasks, for example by integrating data from various repositories and allowing conceptual queries about a system, its history, and also about its development process. Check out my publications if you wish to get a deeper impression of what I was working on recently.
