The Landscape of User Experience in Switzerland (LUXS) 2011 is an untraditional networking event organized jointly by the University of Zurich and the SI Software Ergonomics that aims to bridge the academic and industry UX communities in Switzerland. LUXS is an opportunity to meet people conducting research in Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, Interaction Design and related areas, promote your activities in these areas, and gain exposure to the current landscape and future direction of UX research taking place throughout Switzerland in a dynamic and exciting forum. LUXS 2011 will take place in Zurich on September 8th, 2011 from 3PM to 8PM, followed by an optional informal dinner.
The event is designed to encourage networking and freeform exchange of information and ideas among participants. The half-day’s activities will entail a poster session followed by breakout discussions. Each group or institution represented will have the opportunity to present during the poster session and all participants are invited to participate in the moderated breakout discussions on a variety of topics possibly including but not limited to:
Additionally, a booklet entitled “The Landscape of UX in Switzerland 2011” containing profiles of each group or institution represented will be distributed at LUXS and beyond as a way of further raising awareness of Swiss UX activities and the individuals and organizations engaged in them.
There is no fee for attending this event, though participants wishing to attend the informal dinner afterwards are asked to cover the cost of their meal. Groups or organizations wishing to present themselves are asked register and provide a profile to be included in the booklet by June 20, 2011. Additional group members or individuals not planning on presenting may register until August 22, 2011.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING POSTERS If your organization is planning on presenting a poster, please bring your poster with you, printed in A0 portrait format. We will not be able to print posters for you onsite. We will provide wooden boards and thumbtacks for mounting posters. Please keep in mind that each registered organization or group will be allotted space for ONE poster in A0 portrait format.
All individuals planning on attending should complete the individual registration form, regardless of whether his/her organization is already registered.
