Short biography

Parminder Kaur Makode completed her Bachelor  and Master of Engineering in Computer Science in India. During her master's program, she focused on the applications of blockchain technology, exploring various use cases, particularly in the context of a smart village for her thesis. After her master’s, she served as an assistant professor at Lovely Professional University, India from 2021 to 2022. In this role, she was involved in teaching, supervising research projects, and coordinating cultural activities.

Since October 2022, Parminder has been pursuing her PhD at the UZH Blockchain Center under the supervision of Claudio J. Tessone. Her research is primarily focused on expanding the smart village framework by implementing incentive mechanisms, exploring circular economy models, and working on decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).
