Sven Seuken was awarded a Starting Grant by the European Research Council (ERC) for his project "Machine Learning-based Market Design." His research project will be supported with 1’375’000 Euro over a time period of five years.

Why do some marketplaces like eBay and AirBnB work well, while others don’t? And which market mechanisms and algorithms guarantee economic efficiency, fairness, and computational feasibility? Sven Seuken’s research focuses on these key questions.
