The Requirements Engineering I course includes two homework assignments, which are based on a case study. Students work on the assignments in groups and submit their work by the given deadlines. Groups organize themselves in OLAT.
The assignments will be discussed in class after the respective submission deadlines.
Working on the assignments and the assignment discussions are an integral part of the course. The assignments deepen and complement the material included in the lectures. This way, they enable students to apply basic Requirements Engineering knowledge and skills on a practical case.
Parallel attendance of the couse lectures in Requirements Engineering I.

Students who are enrolled in the course can download the materials from OLAT. While the slides are publicly available, the homework case study and assignments are not. Therefore, they are available only in OLAT.
Note that it is not allowed to pass or make available the assignments or the case study to anybody who is not enrolled in the course.
Students work on the assignments in groups of four. Every group submits one joint solution. Groups organize themselves in OLAT. If the number of enrolled students is no multiple of four, we might end up with some groups of three or one group of five students.
In order to give the students enough time to work on the assignments, there will be no class in the weeks after the publication of an assignment. I.e., on Mon Oct 28, 2024 and Mon Nov 18, 2024 there will be no classes. The groups are encouraged to meet in these “no-class” slots and jointly work on the assignments.
In order to obtain the credits for the course, both assigments must be passed.
Pass criteria are:
Assignments are neither corrected nor graded. The course grade is based entirely on the result of the written exam.
Note that letting somebody else do the work or letting a GenAI generate the submitted work is not considered as “Having worked on all tasks seriously”.
