Multiresolution modeling is an efficient technology to represent complex detailed 3D objects adaptively at different levels-of-detail (LODs). Dynamically simplifying the LOD of an object allows adjusting its complexity to available computing and display resources (i.e. pixel resolution, polygon count, frame rate). In this context we study and develop novel multiresolution modling approaches to process, manage and visualize very large and complex 3D objects and scenes.
