Cross-Cultural Design

Our research explores the design of technologies to facilitate intercultural communication in the workplace. I am interested in the consideration of cultural factors in the design of computer-mediated communication technologies (e.g. email, instant messenging, video chat) for distributed and colocated multicultural teams, as well as the design of real-time sensing and feedback technologies for purposes of intercultural communication training for expats and migrants.
