Scientifica 2023: «What holds the world together»
28 August – 3 September 2023
Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency by market value – right after Bitcoin. Consensus if fundamental for blockchain operation. The more reliable its consensus protocol is, the more trust these platforms can build. We always hear that these systems are all about decentralisation. But, how does consensus work? Is it really decentralised? How can we break it? Prof. Dr. Claudio Tessone, Dr Matija Piškorec and the Bockchain and Distributed Technologies Group present an interesting experiment: Visit us at Scientificato find out how we’re going to do this.
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bernard and Madhav Sachdeva will present at the Irchel campus a recent research prototype that will enable the general public to interact with documents and digital editions in the digital humanities, and to navigate through this digitalized space. Visit us at Scientifica to learn about the research and technology behind the approach.
The prototype is designed and developed in the IVDA (Interactive Visual Data Analysis) Group at IfI, as a visual analysis tool for discovering connections between historical documents and digital editions. Until now, researchers and other interested parties had to expend manual effert to uncover these hidden connections.
The prototype is the result of a collaborative project in the DSI Community Libraries «ORD-Xplore».
