Irina Todoran, PhD student of the Requirements Engineering Research Group, won a Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship. Together with her fellow recipients from all over the world, Irina will participate in the Google Scholarship Retreat 2014, taking place in Zurich, July 6-9. The scholarship was launched in 2004 by Google in honor of their colleague Dr. Anita Borg. It was her vision to encourage women to actively participate in computer science, and she proposed the "50/50 by 2020" initiative, so that women earning computing degrees would be 50% of the graduates by the year 2020. We are still far away from that, but with these good news, we’ve again come a little step closer.
