Inaugural lecture by Dan Olteanu

Dan Olteanu investigates the principles behind computational challenges for data processing and designs simple and scalable solutions towards these challenges in both academia and industry.

In his inaugural lecture, Dan Olteanu will showcase how the intertwining of theory and systems can successfully address challenges that arise in answering questions over uncertain data and learning over continously evolving data.

Dan Olteanu joined the Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich as a full professor in 2020, where he leads the Data Systems and Theory (DaST)group. He is the recipient of several awards incluiding test-of-time, best paper, and distinguished paper awards, ERC consolidator and Google Faculty awards, and an Oxford Outstanding Teaching award.
