The Annual Award 2021 goes to Zichao Zhang for his dissertation «Active Robot Vision: From State Estimation to Motion Planning». Congratulations!
Zichao Zhang investigated in his dissertation how to improve the robustness of machine vision in difficult situations. He showed that a robot must be adaptive in many ways in order to capture meaningful images. His research contributes to novel algorithms that provide important insights for image processing-based mobile robotics.
