A group of researchers of the University of Zurich - Davide Scaramuzza and his Robotics and Perception Group - the USI Università della Svizzera italiana and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) have developped a software for drones, which learn to recognize forest trails and follow them autonomously - thus helping to find missing persons in forests and mountainous terrain.
