04.01.2024In memoriam: Prof. em. Dr. Niklaus Wirth

The developer of the programming language Pascal passed away on January 1, 2024. With deep sympathies the Department of Informatics IfI remembers Prof. Dr. Niklaus Wirth, who did work as an Assistant Professor at the University of Zürich UZH from 1966 to 1968 before being appointed a Professor of Informatics at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. The Swiss informatics and Computer Science community loses a stronghold and pioneer in software as well as hardware research, teaching, and visionary work.
