Workshop on Uncertainties in Climate and Weather Predictions

Prof. Dr. Tülin Kaman is a senior fellow at the Collegium Helveticum, a joint Institute for Advanced Study of ETH, UZH and ZHdK, and a visiting math professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich. She and Prof. Dr. Renato Pajarola (IfI, Visualization and MultiMedia Lab) organize the workshop «Uncertainties in Climate and Weather Predictions» which will be held on Monday, January 13th, 2025 from 17:00 to 19:30 in the Meridian Hall at Collegium Helveticum.

This workshop focuses on the uncertainties in modeling and visualization of climate and extreme weather systems that are at the forefront of current and future atmospheric and climate science developments. A unique venue is provided to bring together atmospheric scientists, applied mathematicians and computer scientists to highlight the recent advances and challenges in modeling, simulation and visualization. Topics will include: (1) climate projections; (2) atmospheric dynamics; (3) visualization of high-resolution extreme weather simulations and big data.
