Ivan De Oliveira Nunes becomes Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity

As of 1 February 2025, Ivan De Oliveira Nunes joins the Department of Informatics as tenure-track Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. Warmly welcome, Ivan!

Ivan De Oliveira Nunes

Ivan De Oliveira Nunes has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester. Before RIT, he received his Ph.D. from the University of California Irvine (UCI), in 2021.

Ivan’s research interests encompass various field, including Security & Privacy, Computer Networking, Embedded Systems, Applied Cryptography, and particularly their intersections. Over the recent years, his research has delved into areas such as IoT/CPS Security, System Security, Software Security, Applied Cryptography, and Network Systems.

At the Department of Informatics, Ivan will head the new research group on Cybersecurity and teach selected topics on computer systems’ security and applied cryptography.
