During the last few months, several VMML group members and PhD students have completed their PhD with submitting and defending their doctoral thesis. These include "Performance Challenges in Distributed Rendering Systems" by Dr. Maxim Makhinya, "Automatic Transfer Function Generation and Extinction-Based Approaches in Direct Volume Visualization" by Dr. Philipp Schlegel, "An Efficient Stream-Processing of Large Geometric Data Sets" by Dr. Jonas Bösch and "Level-of-Detail and Parallel Solutions in Computer Graphics" by Dr. Prashant Goswami.
